Garmin Varia RTL 515 Review

I’ve had the Garmin Varia RTL 515  bike radar for a few years.  I have used this on several rides and the radar is very accurate. On countless occasions it has picked up cars way before I could hear them coming.

The set up to the app is very easy or you can use it with Garmin/Wahoo bike GPS.  I use it with the Wahoo Element BOLT V2 (which I love). I did start with just the phone connection, but soon realized there was a better way.  The set up to the BOLT V2 was a breeze, and the interface was much better.  It showed the traffic and my stats all in one place.  No need to waste phone battery displaying the traffic.   

Let’s not forget about the light, it is bright enough for the day time. This is an excellent feature for alerting drivers that you are on the road! 

One downside to the radar is if traffic is very busy it does beep a lot which some users may find distracting.  

However, overall I definitely recommend this if you do a lot of road riding.  It has alerted me more than I can count and has made my rides safer. Link below to this GREAT product!
