Sun sail
A sun sail is a great way to add extra shade. I started with a post hole digger and dug down 22 inches. Then added about a 3 inch layer of pea gravel to help keep the hole dry. Using a PVC pipe I added a bolt 1 1/2 inches from the bottom. This will create a stop for the pole. I then had to make a bushing around the actual pole due to the fact that the PVC pipe was to big. Next, I drilled a hole for the hillman lock pin. This is so a gust of wind won’t rip the pole out. Repeat this step 4 times. I used quikrete to secure the PVC sleeve in the ground. I added the cement dry then added water to harden. Let this set up for a few days.
Now that is has been a few days you are ready to add the sail! I used this sun sail but you choose the size that works best for your needs. I attached it to the pole using snap hooks and hook and eye turnbuckles. The reason I chose the turnbuckles is they are easier to adjust than a piece of rope.
Video of this will be available soon.
