Simple Striper

Have you ever wanted defined stripe lines in your lawn? Well, here is an easy way to do that.  I used a 4" PVC pipe with two pressure test gaskets on the ends and filled the pipe with play sand.  I also used eye hooks with spring hooks.  First you need to find the length of the pipe based on the width of your mower's wheels.  I used the outside back wheels.  After cutting the pipe you will need to drill three holes on the top for the eye hooks.  Adjust the length of the hooks so the pipe drags on the ground.  Once the hooks are installed fill entire pipe with sand.  The black eye hook in the picture is used to lift the pipe off the ground when not in use.  I just used string for that.  Below are some unedited pictures of single and double width stripes.
